New Activity School Celebrates 70 Years

The New Activity School in Mumbai, commemorated its platinum jubilee celebrations with an impressive concert, on 2nd November, 2023, headlined by the school’s pre-primary section, with tiny tot performers from 2 to 6 years of age.

The theme which celebrated the completion of 70 years included a humorous take on nursery rhymes, an educative and cute display about jungle animals, children performing yoga asanas and pyramid displays, and a symbolic representation of a typical day in the life of a New Activity class conducted using the age-old Montessori method. The highlight was the heart-warming tribute paid to the late ex-Principal – Hira Bhesania, who served the school for almost 30 years.

Current Principal – Hutoxi Boman, and Chief Guest – Kiran Bajaj felicitated the teaching staff with specially curated silver coins marking the festive occasion. The concert was scripted, directed, and coordinated by ex-student Hector Kavarana, alongside elocutionist and well-known English teacher – Zenobia Wadia and other teaching staff.

Established in 1953, by founder principal – Dolat Doongaji, the New Activity School has since become one of the foremost pre-primary and primary educational institutions in South Mumbai, providing students with a balanced and well-rounded education, also focused on extracurricular activities.
