Dedicating over a century to the noble cause of nurturing young Parsi boys into responsible citizens imbued with the values of the Zoroastrian religion, the 16^th East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Scout Group (EBZBSC) held its 102^nd annual winter training camp, from 24^th to 29^th December, 2023, at the picturesque Petit Sanatorium in Bordi.The camp drew over 60 campers, including cubs, scouts, rovers, and scouters of the EBZBSC as also bulbuls, guides, rangers, and guiders from the 71^st East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Guides Company, under Young Zoroastrian Society (YZS) umbrella. Participants partook of character-building and self-growth activities, like tent pitching, outdoor cooking, Agiary visits, hiking, scouting games, base games, beach baseball, fancy dress competition and campfire rituals. On the last day, the campers were delightfully surprised as they journeyed from Bordi to Palghar’s Natventure Resort, where they were treated to thrilling adventure activities and a rejuvenating rain dance. Established on August 1st, 1920, by the late Scouters Ardeshir Jilla and Merwanji Mehta, the 16^th East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Scout Group has been dedicated to training Zoroastrian youth in various physical, mental, and practical skills. It aims at developing individuals into exemplary citizens and positive contributors to society via various camps and activities including Summer Camp (April/May), Winter Camp (December), Night Hike/Night Games, Scout’s Own & Investiture Ceremony, Jashan (Thanksgiving Ceremony), Annual Day Celebration, Educational Trip, Cooking Competition, Elocution Competition, One Day Excursions, and more.The 16^th East Bombay Zoroastrian Bharat Scout Group welcomes all boys between 5 to 17 years of age (preferably join before 13), to fill their lives with excitement while growing into independent adults, alongside a group of good Zoroastrian friends for life.
