The community’s leading Tech-guru and entrepreneur, Yazdi Tantra, has been elected the new Chairman of the Zoroastrian Co-operative Bank Ltd (ZCBL) in the Board Meeting held on 30th March, 2021. He succeeds former Chairperson Homai Daruwala, who will now continue her association with the bank in the capacity of a Director. Phillie Karkaria, who was ZCBL’s Corporate Director, was voted as the new Vice Chairman.
Yazdi Tantra is a Chartered Accountant by training, computer consultant by profession, entrepreneur developer by hobby and trainer. He actively promotes several Zoroastrian websites with the aim of using the online medium to unite our far-flung community across the globe. Yazdi Tantra is also PT’s columnist for the popular weekly column – ‘TechKnow With Tantra’. Additionally, he also writes a regular column on Android apps for efficiency at the workplace for Moneylife, CII and Bombay Chartered Accountants’ Society.
He’s currently also the Global Vice President and Technical Chair of World Zarathushti Chamber of Commerce, and on the Governing Board of Patuck Technical Institute. He runs the computer organisation – ON-LYNE – since three decades now. Through the Covid-19 Pandemic and subsequent lockdown, he has been running a series of Webinars, which have been widely appreciated and well attended by people globally.
