PT: Tell us a little about yourself
Arshin: Born in Mumbai, I spent most of my childhood in Ahmednagar where I attended the Army school but later decided to move to Mumbai for higher studies. I chose the Commerce stream in college and stood first in the HSC exams. During this time, I completed a 6 year certificate program in Bharatnatyam. Later on, I enrolled for the Chartered Accountancy course and shifted to Pune where I got my CA degree and B.Com major in accountancy and finance.

PT: How did you come to choose a career in acting?
Arshin: I decided to follow my passion for acting and modelling after completing my studies. I still remember my time at the Holiday Program for Youth (HPY) where I showed inclination for both CA and acting during the aptitude test. I completed my CA as desired by my parents and then decided to pursue a career in Bollywood, knowing that I have a strong education qualification as a backup. I took up modelling assignments for brands like McDonald’s, LIC, Axis bank, Titan watches, Imperial Blue, IPL Pune team, etc., and it was through one of these advertisements that Deepak Anand, the director of ‘The Rally’, noticed and selected me for the female lead role.

PT: How was the experience shooting for ‘Sallu Ki Shaadi’?
Arshin: It was an amazing experience working with actors like Zeenat Aman, Kiran Kumar, Asrani and Razak Khan. Being a new comer, I had my own share of excitement and nervousness but the shoot carried on smoothly, as everyone was extremely supportive and made me feel comfortable.

PT: So far how many roles and movies have you endorsed?
Arshin: Having undergone a basic acting course from Nari Hera’ s Stardust Academy, I performed a very small role in Bajrangi Bhaijaan, followed by being the lead in the movie Rally. With ‘Salu Ki Shaadi’ in my kitty, I have a few more projects in the pipeline which I will share in due time.

PT: What’s in store for the future?
Arshin: I intend to keep working on myself in the field of acting and be prepared when a good role comes my way. I am looking forward to some exciting projects where I can challenge myself as an actor and play good roles.
