Kohli-Dhoni Level ODI Series Against Australia : Known as the World’s Best Finisher, MS Dhoni (55*) steered India to victory in the second ODI by six wickets with Dinesh Karthik (25*) at the other end, triggered by Virat’s master innings of 104. Batting first, Australia scored 298-9 in 50 overs as Shaun Marsh top-scored with a brilliant 131 off 123. For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohammed Shami grabbed four and three wickets respectively. In reply, India cruised to victory in style smashing 299-4 in 49.2 overs. Man of the Match Virat Kohli made his century in no time, with five boundaries and two sixes out of the park! Finally, Dhoni-Karthik brought in the win at Adelaide Oval. With the series evenly poised at 1-1, the decider promises to keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Ranji Trophy: Wasim Jaffer Smashes Double Ton: Wasim Jaffer, playing for Vidarbha, notched up a double ton – 206 off 296 deliveries with 26 fours –  in the quarter finals clash V/s Uttarakhand, in Nagpur. On day-1, Uttarakhand posted 355 in 108.4 overs with Saurabh Rawat top scoring with 108. In reply, the defending champions finished off Day-3 with 559-6 in 159 overs. Wasim Jaffer continues to play brilliantly, in this, his ninth 200 plus score.

Saina, Srikanth In Quarters Of Malaysia Masters: Ace Indian shuttlers, Saina Nehwal and Kidambi Srikanth advanced to the quarter final round of the Malaysia Masters 2019. Saina registered a straight win in 39 minutes beating Hong Kong’s Yip Pui Yin in the Women’s Singles: 21-14, 21-16 – during the second round. In the Men’s Singles contest, Kidambi Srikanth moved into the quarters as he beat Wong Wing Ki Vincent: 23-21, 8-21, 21-18.


TENNIS

Rafa Advances Up In Australian Open: A dominating performance from Rafael Nadal ensured that he stayed on track towards winning his 18th Grand Slam title. Nadal overpowered Australia’s Matthew Ebden though the latter enjoyed home support of the huge crowd before going down 6-3, 6-2, 6-2, at Rod Laver Arena, in a 116 minutes clash.


FOOTBALL

Juventus Beats AC Milan: Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo’s header helped Juventus win the Supercoppa 1-0 against rivals AC Milan. This was Ronaldo’s 16th goal of the season for the Serie A leaders.
